About Tae Kwon Do |
 |
|
Tae Kwon Do is recognized among
military and law enforcement experts as a highly
effective fighting system. Historically, it is
known as the one of the first fighting martial art. Today,
it is the most popular martial art, accepted in
158 countries and the first to be officially
admitted to the Summer Olympic Games. For these
reasons and more, Master Edgar has chosen Tae
Kwon Do as the base system for
Airwolf Martial Arts. This decision has
enabled Master Edgars students to learn a
standardized system that they can practice and
develop virtually anywhere in the United States
and overseas. Also, it assures the student that
the investment of time committed to learning the
unique techniques of a particular martial art
will not be wasted on an unproven or transitory

"A dojo is a miniature
cosmos where we make contact with ourselves our
fears, anxieties, reactions, and habits. It is an
arena of confined conflict where we confront an
opponent who is not an opponent but rather a partner
engaged in helping us understand ourselves more fully.
It is a place where we can learn a great deal in a
short time about who we are and how we react in the
world. The conflicts that take place inside the dojo
help us handle conflicts that take place outside. The
total concentration and discipline required to study
martial arts carries over to daily life. The activity
in the dojo calls on us to constantly attempt new
things, so it is also a source of learning...a source
of enlightenment".
